ABOUT CHRIS MULTI ACTIVITY SERVICES LIMITED

Chris Hughes Multi Activity Services Limited (CHMAS) is a small UK family run business based in Shrewsbury, providing outdoor activity instruction for individuals, families and small groups. It was founded in 2006 by Chris and Janet Hughes, both of whom have been involved in the outdoors since childhood.

Activity Ethos

Outdoor activities by there very nature can be physically demanding and mentally challenging. We recognise this and will:
  1. Run the activity in a challenge by choice environment;
  2. Provide you with an enjoyable learning experience;
  3. Structure the day to your requirements; and
  4. Make sure you leave smiling.

Activity Instruction

Most of the activity sessions will be led by Chris. However, we do sometimes use other instructors and where we do these will be well known to us, have appropriate national governing body award and a current first aid certificate.

Affiliations / Accreditations

We are a corporate member of the Institute of Outdoor Learning (IOL), which is an organisation that promotes positive experiences and best practice in the outdoor environment. We are also registered with the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service (AALS) and our license number is L7670.

Nitty Gritty

CHMAS has policies in place for Health & Safety (including risk assessments), Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Environmental Protection and Smoke Free Environment. Copies of these documents are available on request. We have Employers Liability and Civil Liability Insurance as appropriate for our activities, which is arranged through Jardine Lloyd Thompson.
